The role of the forensic accountants is to interview employees, review internal controls and sift through thousands of documents and records to identify patterns of theft and refine the scope of wrongdoing without tipping off the wrongdoer. “It becomes a game,” said Robert Lindquist, “The wrongdoer is trying to con me and I’m trying to con him.”
